That super-cool SUV you’re driving? It’s just a station wagon with bigger wheels. That’s right! The vehicle you wouldn’t be caught dead in is the very same thing you go into debt for now. Still feel cool?
Why isn’t the “occupy wall street” crowd camping outside Peyton Manning’s house? He will get paid millions for doing nothing this year. Isn’t that their beef? People making outrageous sums for doing seemingly nothing?
The simple answer is that they’re just jealous. As the saying goes, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.” Payton Manning and other pro athletes make big money because they can. They only get what the industry feels they are worth.
In that same way, the Wall Street guy that gets a 10 million dollar bonus that the OWS guys want to crucify is only getting what his industry feels he is worth.
Instead of staging a public tantrum blaming others for their misfortune, those people should take a long hard look at themselves and ask why others succeed while they do not.
…only outlaws will have guns. That’s the way the saying goes, but it’s true. Making a law against something doesn’t prevent it from happening. Murder is illegal but someone intent on committing one doesn’t care about that. Speeding is illegal but tell that to the jackass riding your bumper. Lots of other things that happen every day are illegal despite the myriad of laws on the books.
If guns had never been invented, people would be killing each other with arrows/swords/axes/knives/screwdrivers/etc. If given the choice between a slow, painful death with a primitive weapon or a .45 to head I would take the latter.
It’s not the gun laws that we need to change, it’s human nature…
I just watched the video of the kid that fell out of a building and lived. Amazing story, but what struck me was the ad before the video using the oil spill as a reason why we need to “end our addiction” to fossil fuels and pass “Cap and Trade”. Give me a freakin’ break.
The first thing it mentions is the WVa Coal Mine disaster. It’s terrible that those miners died. But every job has an associated risk. Lots of fisherman die every year. Should we stop eating fish? Oh yeah, all those Prius’s on the road? The electricity they use comes from coal…
It talks about the “economy in peril” in the Gulf Coast. What do you think “Cap & Tax” is going to do to the economy? It’s going to DESTROY it. And it won’t just be in the gulf, it will be nationwide. It’s so idiotic.
Next, it mentions “madmen using oil profits to threaten the world”. Seriously? If Iran makes 100 million off us every day, does it seem likely they would want to do anything to endanger that? Plus, isn’t this really a good reason we should drill for more oil here in the U.S.?
Cap and Trade will just produce a whole new group of energy millionaire tyrants. The people behind this are out to make money, it has nothing to do with saving the environment. If you believe that it does, then you are being played for a sucker, my friend!
When solar/wind/methane/booger power becomes a viable alternative, we will all start using it. The simple fact is that there isn’t anything that works as well yet. No amount of government intervention is going to accelerate that. What IS going to change things is the invisible hands of the free market.
It’s a rainy Memorial Day and there’s not much you can do outside. So, you’d think there’d be a bunch of patriotic movies and remembrance specials to enjoy on television, right? WRONG! There’s a problem when a channel that calls itself the “HISTORY channel” shows a marathon of “Pawn Stars” on a day set aside to honor soldiers that lost their lives defending our country. AMC is the only channel I found paying any attention to this special holiday. That’s just sad. Have we forgotten? Is it politically incorrect to talk about dying for your country? Do we prefer to just enjoy freedom and ignore the men & women that died to preserve it? it’s shameful…
These Tea Party Bashers really piss me off. For starters, they’re hypocrites. First they dismiss them as “Astroturf” being funded by big business. Then they try to say that they’re just a small number of malcontents undeserving of media coverage. Well, which is it? If big business is going to pay supporters, wouldn’t they want teaming hordes?
Secondly, when detractors say, “Why are they protesting on Tax Day when most of them probably didn’t pay any tax!” I would respond by saying that we ALL pay taxes every time we buy goods and services. And the Tea Partiers chose Tax Day because it was symbolic, not because that’s they’re only concern. They are calling attention to the reckless SPENDING OF OUR TAXES more so than the fact that they had to send in a check this year.
Lastly, it’s been said that the current administration “CUT taxes for 95% of Americans”. So, they’re buying us off with that? “As long as I get an extra $500 on my tax refund you can gouge everybody else”, is that what we’re supposed to say? If someone else is wronged, isn’t it still wrong?
The most venomous of these Tea Party naysayers don’t even make an argument against what the Tea Party stands for. They only choose to mock and degrade them showing how classless they are.
